La Belle Citadelle was created to bring a feel of the past into our homes by bringing wines that truly represent their authentic origin and terroir. Their styles have been carefully crafted to provide enjoyment and pleasure while respecting the true characteristics of each varietal. More importantly a style that integrates its origin and its purpose: The desire to over deliver, surpass expectations and fully satisfy the person who is discovering the wine for the first time...

La Belle Citadelle emulates the creation of a work of art. This is a labor of love, and sharing this passion with others was the driving force behind the project.Our work was quickly noticed, and The Sunset International Wine Challenge (2017) awarded medals to all of our first vintages. Guy Azera

TERROIR

Surface: 2.50 ha.
Soil: Clay-limestone (Kimmeridgian limestones)

VITICULTURE

Bunching, systematic and repeated tillage under row and between rows, trimming, harvest in green, total leafing on both sides of row, elimination of "green-juice".

WINEMAKING

Harvest exclusively manual
Systematic sorting. Stalking of the harvest.
Vinification under temperature control between 22 and 24 ° C.
Alternating trapping and reassembly. Maturation of eight months in vats.

TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS

Eye: Ruby color, violet hues.
Nose: The nose is intense, with notes of black cherry and prunes. Discreetly spicy with peppery notes.
Palate: intense concentration of aromas. Attack on the roundness. The aromas of cherry and liquorice are confirmed in the mouth. Beautiful envelope supported by the elegance and finesse of Pinot Noir. The finish is fresh and enrobed on tasty tannins.

Served between 13 and 15 °, supports with harmony the grilled meats and cheeses, more flourishing accompanies red meats, game and dishes in sauce.

Served cooler between 10 and 12 ° it goes perfectly with fish in sauce.
