ESTATE HISTORY

Created in 1929, the cellar is situated in the heart of the Cru of the Meridional Vallee of the Rhône, in the Vaucluse region on the left bank of the Rhone. It is near the star appellations of Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras.

Camille Cayran knowhow is the story of a small group of devoted wine- makers who work hand in hand with a technical team to create highly expressive wines.

TERROIR

These wines come from vineyards located on the Miocene slopes, north of the village of Cairanne, still called "Montagne du Ventabren". Erosion has cut into the mass of limestone pebbles with rare flint, alternating with marl. The vines are on a slope, facing south and well exposed to the sun.
Age of vines: 25 to 40 years
Yield: 32 HL/hectare

VITICULTURE

100% Organic & Vegan

WINEMAKING

No sulphur during vinification. Traditional vinification in concrete tanks without heating the grapes. 
Fermentation time of 21 days. Long vatting time of 6 weeks allowing a good coating of the tannins. De-vatting and obtaining powerful wines that are good for ageing.
Aged in concrete tanks for 10 months. Very light sulphiting during bottling.
Alcohol Vol: 14.5%

TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS

Dark red colour with purple hues. Powerful nose with concentrated fruit (black cherries, blackcurrants) and spices (pepper, cinnamon and liquorice). Great structure on the palate, full and concentrated, offering magnificent fruity and spicy aromas. The long and round finish is typical of the Cairanne appellation.

Ideal for a special dinner; duck breast, grilled piglet, roast pork, spiced turkey, beef bourguignon, roast beef & cheeses.

To be drunk within 2 to 8 vears after the harvest.
Temperature: 17° to 18°C.
