ESTATE HISTORY

In the early 1980's, Oregonian Tom Huggings found himself intrigued by the notion of creating great regional wines in the heart of the Willamette Valley.

Tom’s dream was rooted in facts. Through his occupation as an agricultural insurance specialist in the 1970’s, he knew what to look for in potential vineyard sites. Tom convinced a handful of close friends and family members to invest with him in purchasing a 35 acre wheat field on Oak Grove Road, just a few miles west of Salem, on a site he felt was ideal for growing grapes.

VITICULTURE

Sustainable farming. The vineyards are dry farmed, which lessens the potential for runoff and helps to protect groundwater sources. Necessary steps are taken to select biological treatments for pests and disease, such as spraying with mineral oil for mite and powdery mildew pressure.

WINEMAKING

Rich and vibrant, the Classic Pinot Gris is harvested by hand from the Legacy Estate Vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills sub-AVA of the Willamette Valley.

With crisp natural acidity balancing out lush notes of Grannysmith apple, honeyed lemon and perfumed aromatics, this juicy wine is a supreme representation of this beloved varietal.

This wine's crisp natural acidity and bright fruit flavors make it a versatile companion for grilled jumbo tiger prawns, chicken simmered slowly in white sauce or prosciutto wrapped sea scallops.
