ESTATE HISTORY
The Gille family was present at Comblanchien as early as 1570. They are now the oldest family in the village. The estate as it exists today was built by Vivant Gille (1877-1938) and the vineyards expanded by Pierre Gille (born in 1947) and his wife Anne.
TERROIR
Very small production of this towering Grand Cru from the famous hill of Corton. Iron-rich soil and 50+ year-old vines contribute to the great concentration and structure of this powerful and long-lived wine.
VITICULTURE
Ploughing, guyot pruning, free of pesticides and herbicides.
WINEMAKING
After 6 days of cold maceration fermentation, the alcoholic fermentation starts naturally without external yeast addition, or temperature control. Maturation lasts 18 months in fine texture, medium toasted, oak barrels (1/3 new barrels).
