ESTATE HISTORY
The estate first appears in records dating back to the 17th century. Château Trianon was named in honor of the luxurious Versailles Palace. In the 19th century, Trianon was a country retreat surrounded by meadows and vines. Until 1952, less than 10 acres of vines were used to make wine. This was subsequently increased to 6.5 hectares (16 acres). Legendary winemaker & ex-owner of Cheval Blanc Dominique Herbrard purchased the estate and has dedicated his efforts to maximizing it’s potential.
TERROIR
Located in the municipality of Saint-Émilion, the estate covers 16 hectares (39,54 acres), of which 14,5 hectares (35,83 acres) are vines, featuring sandy clay soils over iron-bearing rock with red gravel on the surface of some plots.

TASTING AND FOOD PAIRINGS
93 points James Suckling
Black cherries, currants and flowers with subtle hazelnuts on the nose. Medium-bodied with lovely integration of fruits and tannins on the palate and a clean finish. Focused and vivid.
Rich, juicy, layered red and black fruit aromas—silky yet assertive. Red and black cherries and mocha on the nose. Red plums and some fresh bread mid palate, a touch of mint brittle on the finish. Assertive tannins. Pair with rare beef or a truffle tagliatelle.
