ESTATE HISTORY
Isabelle Rey-Auriat took over the 14-hectare family estate in 1994, the fifth generation to tend to the vines.
TERROIR
The vineyards of Château Les Hauts d’Aglan sits in Southwest France between the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and the Pyrenees.
With a southern exposure on the highest terraces of the far west of the Cahors appellation, the vineyards enjoy a unique terroir. Winemaking and Vinification The grapes come from vines averaging 30 years of age.
VITICULTURE

WINEMAKING
They are harvested late due to their location at the far west of the Cahors appellation, which often allows an early harvest. The yield of the harvest is limited to 45 hectoliters-per-hectare (24,300 bottles per acre) by controlling the number of grapes on each vine.
Manual harvest is followed by 15 days of fermentation, 8 days of maceration under the marc, malolactic fermentation, and then 18 months maturation in concrete vats.
TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS
A deep, black cherry red, nearly opaque. Concentrated, ripe cherries, crushed violets, and ground white pepper in the nose. The wine is concentrated, and the sweet black fruit is framed by silky tannins.
Pairs best with Cassoulet, duck confit, braised rabbit, sausage, grilled venison and lamb chops.
