Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

70% Merlot
15% Cabernet Franc
15% Cabernet Sauvignon

Region: Bordeaux

Château Condat lies on the old site of a castle built by Guillaume Le Penitent and the King of England Henry II in the 11th Century. Current owner: Francois Janoueix

The vineyard is loctated on a plateau of red gravel like the best wines from Pomerol and St. Émilion. Soil type: Limestone clay soils. Average of the vines: 35 years. Area: 12 ha.

Harvest by machine. Stainless steel tanks.
Ageing in new barrels (70%)

Wine Enthusiast 93points - Recent acquisition of the Janoueix family, this estate is getting into its stride. This wine has plenty of the rich black fruit of the vintage along with a firm structure that will allow it to age. Flavors from the new wood used for aging show in the spice and the dry core of the wine.

Grape aromas: Blackcurrant, flavors of cherry, blackberry, plum and smoky oak. Enjoy this St Emilion with grilled salmon with potatoes and green beans.
This Saint-Émilion is always great with a classic Entrecote a la Bordelaise.
