ESTATE HISTORY
Initially, companions in love with the wines of the South-West and determined to share their passion... and then a tenuous idea, to achieve what no one had ever done, to create a quality trading house on the theme wines from the South-West like other regions such as Burgundy, the Rhône...
Under Lionel's leadership, "Lionel Osmin et Cie" was born to promote loud and clear the discovery of the unique grape varieties and terroirs of this region.
From Jurançon to Cahors, from Gaillac to Bergerac via Marcillac, Lionel Osmin et Cie has become the only transversal signature of South-West wines, these vineyards whose secrets have not all been revealed...
The result of the ranges of wines, with characteristics faithful to what our region is, but designed to share the joy of discovering the grape varieties and appellations that we love so much.
Discovery, novelty and above all conviviality are probably the best adjectives to describe these South West wines that are offered for your tasting.
TERROIR
Climate: oceanic, cool and moist during the growing season. However, autumn is often dry and hot, thanks to the Southern winds (called the Foehn effect). The grapes then start to dry on the vines.
The selected spots are Pyrenean Piedmont slopes, with terraces facing the South. In this blend, the grapes come from high-altitude vineyards lying over the Jurançon AOC's two main kinds of terroir, Monein, warm and early, producing full, rich wines and Chapelle de Rousse: cooler and later, with fresh wines.

WINEMAKING
Harvest by hand during October. The entire harvest then undergoes a maceration followed by a slow and gentle pressing allowing pure juice and expressive aromas.
We control the temperature during fermentation, mainly in thermoregulated tanks, and a part in barrels. No malolactic fermentation but ageing on fine lees. Bottling after 10 months of ageing.
TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS
Intense colour with golden tints. Expressive aromas with depth, notes of vanilla, white peach and citrus fruits. The same are found on the palate, where the freshness emphasizes a few very slightly candied fruit notes. Nice, long and full-bodied, a true gastronomic wine.
Service temperature: 8-10 °C
Ageing potential: 8 years
Food pairing: smoked fish, lobster, shrimp, hake, sea bream, fishes in sauce, escargots, prawns, sauerkraut, veal rib à la crème, fondue, bleu des Causses.
