French Wine of the Month - Pomerol

Pomerol is located in the right bank of Bordeaux, in the Libourne region. It is one of the smallest production areas in the Bordeaux vineyards but its châteaux, including the famous Pétrus, produce some of the rarest and most expensive wines in the world.

Pomerol wines are sensual, opulent and combine intensity and finesse in the mouth. They also have a supple, velvety and fleshy texture in addition to having a very deep ruby color.

Best served slightly cooler than room temperature. Food pairing suggestions: rare ahi tuna, salmon, roasted chicken, risotto with porcini mushrooms, prime rib, game, grilled lamb chops and Camembert cheese.
