ESTATE HISTORY

In the last thirty years, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest has constantly challenged practices and techniques for the benefit of his land and the unique characteristics of the wines grown on it, enabling Château Angélus to be recognised as one of the foremost properties in its appellation area. This recognition has been documented in one classification after another, the last of which awarded Château Angélus the status of Premier Grand Cru Classé "A".

TERROIR

The estate consists of 23.4 hectares.
Soils: clay-limestone for the upper part and clay-sand-limestone on the hillsides.

VITICULTURE

Sustainable farming practices.

WINEMAKING

Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, ageing in new oak barrels, and bottling without filtration.

TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS

Dark berries, earth, minerals, wood and spice aromas. With silky textures, this mature wine shows a minor hint of under ripe flavors in the otherwise, surprisingly good, plum filled finish.

Perfect with classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, grilled dishes & rich fish like tuna. Also pairs wonderfully with Asian dishes and pasta.

Best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
